We had only been open six months when the National Burger Day campaign kicked off in 2018. I was delighted for any exposure. We put our nomination out there on Facebook and asked anyone who rated us if they would kindly vote. We didn’t have a huge following but we did have a loyal following, and that seemed to work. The win got a lot of coverage in the national media and the local. Most people make a big thing of mentioning National Burger Day when they come in.

Andy Brown, The Hungry Moose

We’ve had really good kick-back since winning last year. A lot of people are coming in, having heard about the win, and wanting to try the Handsome Burger, and there’s been a great response from the media, both local and national. My advice to other businesses would be to enter the competition, particularly if you’re newly opened, it’s wonderful publicity.

Rory McCormack, Handsome Burger

We found out about National Burger Day through social media and then we just went for it. After winning the prize, we were featured in the Irish Times and the Irish Independent and in the Donegal Daily and the website Donegal Now. National Burger Day endorsement has been great for staff morale. And we’re delighted to have such loyal fans, we really appreciate them!
